Guru Tegh
Bahadur was born on April 1st 1621 AD in Guru Ka Mahal in
Amritsar. His message to his followers was renunciaion of
world attachments. Guru Tegh Bahadur sacrificed his life
so that those of another religion would have the Right To
Freedom Of Religion in Delhi on the orders of Aurangzeb
in 1675. Guru Tegh Bahadur composed a total of 115 hymns
which are a part of the Sat Guru Granth Sahib. He also
founded the city of Anandpur Sahib, Dist. Ropar in
Punjab. Guru Sahib visited many parts of Punjab, Uttar
Pardesh, Bihar, Bengal and Assam to bless his followers.
Guru Tegh Bahadur nominated his son Gobind Rai as the
10th Sikh Guru. |
