| Swami
Ramanand (born 1359 AD) is considered a pioneer of the
great Bhakti Movement in Northern India. He has also been
regarded as the bridge between the Bhakti Movements of
the South and North. Though a Brahmin by birth, he did
not entertain any sense of pride because of his caste.
The above scene depicts the Swami and Bhagat Pipa (born
1425 AD) who received divine enlightenment by the grace
of Swami Ramanand. (Bhakti means the path of love and devotion) |
